Day 01 - Arrive Delhi
You arrive in Delhi and are transferred by private car to the pre-booked
hotel.
Day 02 - Explore Delhi
After a fortifying breakfast at your hotel, you'll begin a full day tour
of Delhi, beginning in the old section of the city. You'll travel by
rickshaw to the city's showpiece, the Red Fort -the most opulent palace of
the Mughal Empire. The fort's Lahore Gate faces the colorful Chandni
Chowk, the bustling market of the old city. At Raj Ghat, the memorial to
Mahatma Gandhi, you'll stop to see the simple square platform of black
marble that marks the place where Gandhi was cremated. After lunch, the
tour continues through New Delhi, designed and built by King George V's
architects as an "Imperial City." You'll begin at Delhi's main
avenue, the Rajpath, and see the India Gate and the imposing Presidential
Palace before stopping to visit Qutab Minars and Emperor Humayun's Tombs.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 03 - Free Day in Delhi
Now that you are acquainted with the city we have arranged a free day to
enjoy Delhi at your leisure. You can explore on your own or choose from
one of our enriching optional tours.
Day 04 - Delhi - Agra & the Taj Mahal
A
magnificent day begins as you drive to Agra (203 kms / 4 hrs) in the
morning. Enroute visit Sikendra Fort. Upon arrival in Agra tansfe to
hotel. Later you will experience the monumental grandeur of the legendary
Taj Mahal, built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife. Also
visit Red Fort and Itmad-ud-Daula. (Taj Mahal is closed on all Fridays).]
Day 05 - Agra - Delhi
Morning is free for leisure. Later drive to Delhi (approx 203 Kms. 4 hrs.
drive) en-route visit Fatehpur Sikri (37 kms.) built by Emperor Akbar in
1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. Predominately,
a red sandstone construction sprawling over a huge area, the architectural
style is very much in tune with emperor's dream & partakes of both
Hindu & Muslim styles. See the graceful buildings including Jama
Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other places. On arrival
transfer to hotel for overnight stay.)
Day 06 - Leave Delhi
Today you'll be transferred to airport by private car for your flight
home
