This morning, begin a tour of Old Delhi. The day’s stops belong to the Red Fort, Raj Ghat Jama Masjid and the mile-long Chandni Chowk bazaar. In the noon, start your tour of New Delhi. During this, you get to experience the only of a kind drive along the Rajpath to witness the imposing Victorian structures of the Parliament House, the President's House and India Gate. The Humayun's Tomb, Qutab Minar and Lotus Temple are other attractions covered during this city’s tour. Overnight in Delhi.
This morning, transfer to the airport to board connecting flight for Kathmandu, the largest city and the capital of Nepal. In the past, it was the most inaccessible Shangrila, but now a comfortable gateway for tourists to Nepal. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit Durbar Square, Temple of the Living Goddess and Swayambhunath as a part of Kathmandu tour. Overnight at hotel.
After breakfast, dedicate the morning to explore the charming towns of Bhaktapur, Pashupathinath and Bodhnath, wherein the tourists get to explore the culture, nature and spiritual heritage of Nepal. This will be extended further with a post lunch visit to Patan and the Tibetan handicrafts center. Drive back to Kathmandu for overnight stay.
Leave Kathmandu for a flight towards Varanasi (Benares). This is India's holiest city, located on the sacred riverfronts of Ganges. Upon arrival, meet our representative who will assist the transfers to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the stupas, ruins and museum at Sarnath, the site of Buddha's first sermon. The museum of Sarnath is also worthy of a visit wherein tourists get to see the inspiration behind the National Emblem of India, the Lion Capital on the Ashokan Pillar. Return to Varanasi by the evening, and if time permits, visit the Ganges Ghats and be a part of the gala prayers in the city. Overnight at hotel.
Early morning rise up to enjoy the sunrise on the Ganges River with a boat ride followed by a walking tour of one of the world’s oldest continuing cities in India. Later take off to Khajuraho, the capital of the Chandela Rajputs. Upon arrival, meet our representative for an assisted transfer to the hotel. The day is devoted to cover the Western Group of Temples, considered for its largest and evocative temples. Visit the Kandariya Mahadev representing Chandela art at its best. Overnight in Khajuraho.
Next morning in Khajuraho, concentrate on the Eastern group of temples which are modest and less ornate than the Western Group. These temples reflect the simplicity inherent in Jainism. Later, check out Khajuraho for a drive to Jhansi and board the train to Agra. On drive to Jhansi, visit Orcha, a forgotten medieval city of Madhya Pradesh famous for its 17th century palaces, pavilions and temples. Board the train to Agra from Jhansi. Pay a morning visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal for witnessing the world heritage monument draped in the fresh morning hues of the sunrise. Later visit the Agra Fort followed by the drive to Jaipur (232 km / 5 hrs). En route visit the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri. Overnight in Jaipur. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays)
In the morning, visit the hilltop fortress-palace of Amber, which is recently declared as a world heritage site for displaying the unique architecture dedicated to the unconquerable Rajputana. Here, you will be reaching the steep way leading the magnificent fort in a truly outstanding way atop the royal elephants. Later, enjoy the Jaipur city tour including a visit to the must visit attractions of the city visiting Hawa Mahal or the "Palace of Winds," City Palace and the Jantar Mantar Observatory. If time permits, enjoy a shopping tour of Jaipur.
This morning, check out the famous royal city for another exclusive destination, Udaipur. Upon arrival, meet our representative for assisted transferred to hotel in this luxurious destination of Rajasthan. In the afternoon, begin the tour of the "City of Lakes," known as one of the most picturesquely romantic cities of India and maybe the world. Visit the City Palace, Saheliyon ki Bari or Garden of Maids and the folklore museum where you can see a presentation of the string puppets distinctive to this area. Overnight in Udaipur.
After morning meal, continue the itinerary with an excursion towards the beautifully sculpted 15th century Jain temples of Ranakpur. The intricately carved white marble is so well preserved. The temple dedicated to the Sun God is famed for its erotic sculpture. Stop for lunch at Maharani Bagh, a mango grove and private gardens of the Maharajah of Jodhpur.
Fly to Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India's most cosmopolitan city. Your Mumbai city tour includes the British-built arch "Gateway of India," Mumbai's landmark; the Hanging Gardens and the residential area of Malabar Hill, where Mumbai's rich and famous live; the Prince of Wales Museum, Dhobi Ghat, Marine Drive, the Gandhi Memorial Museum and Jain Temple. Evening transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward destination.
