Tigers and Temple tour bring together two foremost attractions of India. One is inclined towards the wildness of the country, whereas other is devoted towards the places of worship. Embark on the sightseeing this morning with a visit to the Elephanta island famous for 6th century rock cut cave temples. On return, enjoy the surface tour of Mumbai with a visit to its resplendent attractions including the largest outdoor laundry, Dhobhi Ghat, Gateway of India and the Prince of Wales Museum wherein you can see the best of the miniature Mughal art. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Transfer to the airport after breakfast and board the flight for Nagpur. Here, you will meet our driver who will assist you during the road travel to Kanha (300 km / 6 hrs). here, you will stay at the Kipling Camp for a three night stay. Relax this evening in preparation for the game drives ahead. Overnight in Kanha.
Over the next two days, you will enjoy meandering through the wildlife sanctuary via pleasurable game drives in search for the elusive tiger. It was here, that Rudyard Kipling got his inspiration for The Jungle Book, a children classic. At this national park, the landscape is as interesting as the variety of wildlife that stays here.
This morning drive through the rugged, yet scenic, landscape to Bandhavgarh (325 km / 7 hours) and arrive at Churhat Kothi, newly built and styled on African safari tents, for a three night stay. Bandhavgarh was originally the private hunting preserve of the Maharaja or Rewa it was changed to a national park in 1968 and is now one of the best places on earth to spot tiger.
Your early morning and late afternoon game drives over the next two days will allow you view the varied bird life as well as leopard, tiger, Barking Deer and wild Oxon.
After breakfast, continue the journey and travel by road to Khajuraho (240 km / 6 hours) where you will check into the hotel for overnight stay.
After a leisurely breakfast, partake in an exploration of the Chandela Temples of the area that date back to the 10th and 11th century, featuring erotic art and wonderful sculpture.
This morning is your last chance to drink in the serenity of Khajuraho until your afternoon flight to Delhi. Transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Evening free for relax or to spend time for shopping. Overnight at hotel.
Devote the day to observe the monumental heritage of Delhi and visit the Raj Ghat (Cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi), the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar & India Gate (War Memorial) as a part of city’s sightseeing. Drive past President House & Parliament House. Also visit the Birla Temple. Later transfer to international airport to connect flight for onward destination (hotel checkout 12:00 hrs.)
